I have been photographing the dogs from Camo Rescue for a while now. It has been such a great feeling to do such a small part in helping these dogs get adopted.
Earlier this year I lost one of my dogs and recently decided to start fostering. I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure how my dogs and cat would react to having a new dog in the house. I couldn't have asked for a better first foster than Sophie.
Sophie was an owner surrender and has been with me about a month. She got so many applications for adoption that she had to be removed from petfinder.com after only a few days. She has been so much fun to have around. Of course I photographed her several times while she was with me. I don't have black dogs and lighting them is so different than my white dogs.
Sophie will be going to her forever home soon. I will miss her and yes, it was tempting to adopt Sophie myself but in the end I thought about how many other dogs I could help along the way. It's a win/win. I get to have a dog, photograph it and help it find a new home. I can't think of anything better.
So, if you feel that you could foster, adopt or donate please reach out to Camo Rescue or any other local rescue group.
