Meet Willie Nelson. This adorable adult terrier mix has been through so much is his life already. He deserves a forever how with someone who will love and cherish him for the rest of his life.
Willie was rescued from a shelter by CAMO Rescue. Willie was in bad shape, covered in mats and fleas and was so dirty it took 3 baths just to get him clean. Once cleaned up all his medical problems became apparent. Willie had never been neutered and had a cancerous testicle. Fortunately, cancer hadn’t spread and it was removed when he was neutered.
That was just the beginning for this little guy. He also had a shattered pelvis from most likely being hit by a car. Some of the bone fragments created stones in his urinary tract and he needed emergency treatment. It took two specialists and two emergency surgeries to save his life.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to have surgery to repair his pelvis yet because other life-saving surgeries had to come first. I was honored to photograph this tough little guy recently and couldn’t believe how sweet he was after all he’s been through.
Once he has recovered from his pelvis surgery and has a dental appointment he will be ready for adoption through CAMO Rescue. I can’t say enough good things about this organization because they rescue animals that no one else would consider, spend literally thousands and thousands of dollars to give these sweet pets the medical care the have been denied all their lives. Taking animals from backyard breeders or hoarders or whatever horrible living conditions and giving them a second chance is a cause I am proud to be associated with. Photographing these little guys isn’t much, but if it can help get them the forever home they all so desperately deserve then I’m thrilled to do it.
